About Bernard

Bernard Friel, now retired, spent nearly 50 years practicing law with much of his practice in the field of municipal law including over ten years at various times as City attorney for three metropolitan area cities as well as having served on the planning commission of Mendota Heights for 12 years. He was a founding member and first president of the National Association of (Municipal) Bond Lawyers. He also served as a member of the School Board of ISD 197. Mr. Friel has been a serious nature photographer for over 45 years and now enjoys a career as a professional photographer. Following a "wake-up call" heart attack over 40 years ago he pursued his leisure time in adventure travel, backpacking, wilderness canoeing, kayaking, river rafting, mountaineering and some "Blue Water" sailing, and was recently inducted into The Explorers Club. He is a Charter member and past president of the North American Nature Photography Association, a member of the CAF and of Grand Canyon River Guides. I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved with the film.
