Here's what you may have missed last week on Mendota Heights Patch: If you're as ready to move on from the heaviness of winter as we are, check out last week's series on spring cleaning designed to help you clean out the closets, get rid of the junk and transform your space for the new season. The potholes have emerged. Mendota Heights Patch has more information on how Mendota Heights, Mendota and Lilydale will be approaching pothole repairs this spring. Students in District 197 had to unplug Monday after an equipment failure damaged the servers supporting internet and phone service. Henry Sibley High School's production of "Aida" has challenged everyone from the lead actress to the production team. But all the hard work will be worth it if the audience leaves happy, said the Sibley students involved in this year’s spring musical being performed April 15-17. The show is a modern musical retelling based on the Italian opera by Giuseppe Verdi. The musical premiered on Broadway in 2000 with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice of “Evita,” “The Lion King,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Beauty and the Beast” fame. A large pit orchestra provides the unique instrumental soundtrack for the show. Eighteen musicians under the direction of pit director Clayton Browne supply the live music for Aida.
