South Metro Crime Roundup: Man Threatens President, Heroin Charges, Child Abuse

In other crime news from around the region last week, two Apple Valley men were arrested in separate incidents involving loaded guns, and a high-speed chase through Shakopee reached speeds of 95 mph.

Charges: Man Sold Methamphetamine to Police Informant in Mendota Heights

Vernon Ole Grimsrud, 53, faces two felony drug charges in relation to the incident, which allegedly took place on Sept. 20.

Vernon Ole Grimsrud, 53, faces one felony count of third-degree sale of a controlled substance and one fifth-degree felony count of possession of a controlled substance. If convicted on the first charge, Grimsrud could face a maximum of 30 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. Police say a confidential informant contacted Grimsrud on Sept. 20 and arranged a meeting with the man. The informant, given government buy money to purchase the meth, allegedly met with Grimsrud at 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 20 at a business in …
