A safer crossing at Lexington and Victoria Curve is among approved changes to traffic and pedestrian crossings.
Several changes in traffic control throughout the city were approved Tuesday night at Mendota Heights City Hall as a result of requests by residents, including one request made by a Brownie troop. The city’s traffic safety committee (TSC) meets periodically to consider requests. They provided a series of recommendations to the city council based off of their review. Hulking trucks and construction equipment are positioned in Mendota for Highway 13 reconstruction.
It's not the dustiest car show ever organized, and no, there isn't a contractors' picnic nearby. Trucks and equipment parked just northeast of St. Peter's Church are positioned and ready to roll on construction of Highway 13 in Mendota. They're just waiting on a signal. Work that was to be done over July 24-27 was postponed at the last minute, and there is no word yet on when the equipment will power up and rumble out of that lot. What we do know is business access will be maintained, and two directions of traffic will be managed through a manual flagging system. If you're seeing orange, you're not alone. Between city, county and state road construction projects, the Mendota Heights area has been awash in signage and orange construction cones this summer. Residents will be rewarded for their patience with miles of new road at the end of the season. Mayor Sandra Krebsbach sits down with Public Works Director John Mazzitello at Mendota Heights City Hall for a recap. Like us on Facebook | Sign up for our daily newsletter | Follow us on Twitter
