Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge Open House Scheduled for Dec. 6

In late January or early February, no vehicle combinations of more than 35 feet in length will be allowed to use the Lafayette Bridge until the crossover is removed next November.

All interested parties are invited to attend an open house to learn more about a traffic crossover MnDOT is building from the existing Lafayette Bridge to the new northbound bridge. In late January or early February 2013, no vehicle combinations of more than 35 feet in length will be allowed to use the Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge spanning the Mississippi River until the crossover is removed in late November 2013. Hwy 52 Lafayette Bridge Closures Scheduled for Nov. 12-16

The closures will begin daily at 8 p.m. and reopen every morning by 5 a.m.

Editor's note: The following is an announcement from MnDOT.  Motorists traveling the northbound Hwy 52 Lafayette Bridge will encounter overnight detours as the bridge closes between Concord Street and East 7th Street from Nov. 12-15. The closures will begin daily at 8 p.m. and reopen every morning by 5 a.m. from Nov. 13-16. In addition, southbound Hwy 52 will close between eastbound and westbound West 7th Street from Nov. 12-15. All southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. every morning.   Access to southbound Hwy 52 will remain available from westbound I-94, southbound I-35E and eastbound I-94. The closures are needed as crews remove permanent barrier and replace it with temporary barrier in order to build a bypass. Motorists are encouraged…

Highway 5 Overnight Lane Closures Planned for Nov 2-3

The lane closure is needed as crews continue to install runway towers and lighting for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Motorists may continue to experience delays on eastbound Highway 5 near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as nightly lane and shoulder closures occur Nov. 2-3. The right lane and shoulder of eastbound Hwy 5 between Post Road and Glumack Drive will close at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 and will reopen at 5 a.m. Nov. 3. The lane closure is needed as crews continue to install runway towers and lighting for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week for I-35E in Eagan

The closures are expected to shut down portions of the freeway between Lone Oak Road and Hwy. 13 on Monday morning.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Interstate 35E motorists may encounter delays on both directions of I-35E as lane closures take place between Lone Oak Road and Hwy. 13 starting at 8 a.m. Monday, June 25. Northbound and southbound I-35E will be reduced to a single lane from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on June 25. The lane closures are needed as crews remove core samples from the pavement. All lanes of both directions of I-35E will reopen by 3 p.m. June 26, and no lanes  will be closed during rush hour.

Highway 110 Reduced to Single Lanes June 11-18

Motorists should expect delays while crews rehabilitate pavement in the area.

Highway 110 will be reduced to single lanes in both directions between Highway 55 and Lexington starting midmorning June 11, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.  The lanes will remain closed while crews rehabilitate surrounding concrete pavement. They will reopen by 5 a.m. on June 18. Motorists are expected to encounter delays as a result of the closures.

UPDATED: Highway 13 to Close Through Mid-June

A signed detour will redirect motorists while the highway is closed for resurfacing.

Update (3 p.m., June 8) Highway 13 will be closed between Yankee Doodle Road and Pilot Knob Road in both directions from June 12-22, not June 11-21 as Patch previously reported, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The highway will close at 7 a.m. on June 12 for resurfacing work and will reopen at 7 p.m. on June 22.
