Inver Grove Man Charged with Three Felonies in New Year’s Day Shooting

Michael Jamah Griffis was charged with one count of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault.

In Dakota County District Court on Thursday, Michael Jamah Griffis was charged with one count of first-degree assault (great bodily harm) and two counts of second-degree assault (dangerous weapon-substantial bodily harm). Bond was set at $25,000 with conditions that included: • Not entering the victims’ residence • No contact with the victims • Alcohol monitoring and random testing • No use of alcohol or controlled substances • Keeping the court informed of his current address. Man Arrested Following Early Morning Shooting in Inver Grove Heights

At least two people were shot: one in the hand and another in the upper arm.

At least two people were shot in the incident, which reportedly occurred around 1 a.m Tuesday in a building in the 3000 block of Upper 76th Street East, according to police scanner reports. A woman was shot in her hand, and another person was shot in the upper arm, according to scanner reports. Emergency personnel were called to treat the woman in a car on 70th Street near Highway 52, and the other person was found at the scene of the shooting.
