The summer-long project finished in time for the first day of school.
The project that detoured traffic around Delaware Avenue by Henry Sibley High School was finished last week—just in time for the start of school. Detour signs were removed Tuesday for the section of road from Highway 110 to Marie Avenue. Dakota County crews built a three-lane roadway with a single lane each direction and a center left turn lane. Utilities and the road bed were replaced. A new paved path along the west (school) side of the road is now ready for pedestrians and bicyclists.
