Repairs to the pool that was closed last summer are underway.
Swimmers at St. Thomas Academy and Visitation School will be able to return to their home pool this season, after spending last year in unfamiliar waters. Repairs are currently underway on the St. Thomas Academy pool, according to Mary Culbertson, director of communications for the school. The pool remained closed during the winter, after deficiencies were discovered in the steel support beams of three of the walls in the pool building during routine maintenance and renovation last summer. The east wall of the building, which is the most corroded, is being replaced. The north and south walls are being reinforced.
