In 2011, the park underwent environmental cleanup, and a master plan for the park was developed to provide amenities and enhance the park's undeveloped features.

In addition to Pickerel Lake, the park's amenities include fossil grounds at the site of a former brickyard and a boat launch into the Mississippi River. Ice climbing on the cliffs and fossil collecting are allowable by permit only.

Lilydale Regional is adjacent to St. Paul's Cherokee Regional Park.
