Mike B. - Your characterization of these churches and secular humanism demonstrates your lack of understanding of any viewpoints other than your own. "If it feels good, do it" has nothing to do with the philosophy of any of these churches.
I think what troubles you the most is that your fundamentalist viewpoints are slowly, but surely, moving towards the fringes of mainstream thought.

You could also read the statements of a variety of ministers and perhaps understand their reasons for support. Notice I didn't say change yours. You could calmly observe over the next year or two and see how this works out. There will be a few kinks to work out because law and people are complex. I hope you find a peaceful way to resolve your conflict because your anger will ultimately affect your health.
