The Bakken Museum will celebrate the 90th birthday of Earl Bakken, founder of Medtronic, during the free Second Saturday. “To celebrate Earl's love of tinkering, The Bakken has partnered with Hennepin County to hold a Fix-It Clinic that day in our classrooms,” according to the museum website. During the Fix-It Clinic, “residents bring in small household appliances, clothing, electronics, mobile devices and more and receive free guided assistance from volunteers with repair skills to disassemble, troubleshoot and fix their items.” Children can look at Bakken’s books and artifacts, make Hawaiian leis (he lives in Hawaii) and participate in other projects. The party will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3537 Zenith Ave. S., Minneapolis.
