Steak and Dessert at the VFW on Sunday

This weekend also includes a carnival and car show, and a one-day art and music camp.

The Mendota VFW is having a steak fry on Sunday, Aug. 18.

The cost, including dessert and all the fixings, is $12. The event starts at 4 p.m. at Vasatka-Goers WWII VFW Post #6690 on Sibley Memorial Highway.

Boltz's Family Martial Arts and Fitness is holding a carnival and car show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

"The event provides free and exciting games and activities for the entire family while raising funds for the Way of the Warrior Foundation," according to the business.

There also is a one-day art and music camp on Saturday.
