Mentor Wanted for Teen Who Loves the Outdoors

Nonprofit Kids 'n Kinship has mentoring opportunities available in the south metro.

Almost 50 south metro kids are waiting for an adult mentor through nonprofit Kids 'n Kinship. Mendota Heights-area adults are invited to consider becoming a mentor in the lives of these children.

Age:  14

Interests:  Samantha is athletic and likes softball, basketball, swimming, soccer and mini golf. She also likes cooking, scrapbooking, movies, shopping and games.  

Personality/Characteristics:  She likes school, especially math and writing, and she does well academically, getting As and Bs. Her single parent mom is looking for a mentor Samantha can look up to and bond with and who can give her daughter the opportunity for activities.

Goals/Dreams: Samantha is in 8th grade—and will start high school this fall. 

Looking For: She would like a mentor to look up to and talk with and who is “outdoorsy”! 

For More Information: Samantha is one of almost 50 children waiting for a mentor through Kids ‘n Kinship, a private nonprofit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 40 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. March 27 at the Wescott Library in Eagan. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
