Visiting Tartan knocks Sibley pitching for 17 hits and the Warriors commit six errors in Classic Suburban Conference game Wednesday.

It’s clear Tartan has Henry Sibley’s number this season.

Visiting Tartan laid a 11-2 hurt on the Henry Sibley Warriors Wednesday afternoon in Classic Suburban Conference baseball. The Titans outhit the Warriors 17-3, and Sibley hurt its own cause by committing six errors.

“We wish we could start over, play the game over again,” said Henry Sibley head coach Greg Fehrman. “Obviously when you give up 17 hits and you commit six errors you’re not playing the game very well.”

“They’re (the Titans) good, there’s no doubt about they’re good,” said Fehrman. “Usually when another team gets 17 hits and six errors and they’re going to 10-run you in five innings. So our kids didn’t quit, but we just have to play the game better. We talked about that, making sure that we understand what that means and how that can go ahead and make us a better ball club.”

Tartan (6-4) kept mathematically in the hunt for a conference title, trailing league-leading Hill Murray (8-1) by three games. Richfield (6-3) and St. Thomas Academy (6-3) are tied for second in the Classic Suburban Conference.

Henry Sibley lost its sixth straight game and fell to 1-8 in the conference and 2-8 overall. The Warriors host Simley (0-11) Thursday, May 5, in a game starting at 4:15 p.m.
