Mendota Heights Teams Compete Under Sunny Skies

Mother Nature cooperates at last as Henry Sibley, St. Thomas Academy and Visitation sports squads get in a full schedule.

Mother Nature cooperated lst week in a way not yet seen this season as the Henry Sibley, St. Thomas Academy and Visitation sports squads got in a full schedule of competitions.

Track And Field: Warriors Finish First In Boys, Girls Conference Competitions

The Henry Sibley girls track and field team won a conference meet against South St. Paul, 87-55, with the boys tying for first with St. Thomas Academy with a score of 78 on Tuesday.

Josh McHenry topped the Warriors boys in both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles with respective times of 18.2 and 44.1 seconds in the Tuesday meet, with Bobby Wills pacing Sibley in the 100-meter dash in 11.2 and the 200-meter dash in 23.3.

Maggie Belde led the Warriors girls with times of 13.61 in the 100 and 28.25 in the 200.

Henry Sibley Baseball: Warriors go 0-for-4 Last Week

The Henry Sibley baseball team lost all four of its games last week to fall to 2-10 overall and 1-10 in the Classic Suburban Conference.

Individual statistics were not available. The Warriors lost to Mahtomedi (6-0), Tartan (11-2), Simley (10-8) and Richfield (4-3).

Henry Sibley Softball: Warriors Remain Winless This Spring

Four losses last week dropped the Henry Sibley softball team to 0-12 overall and 0-11 in the conference.

The Warriors lost to Hill-Murray (5-2), South St. Paul (2-1), Simley (4-1) and North St. Paul (2-0).  Individual statistics were not available.

Girls Golf: Warriors Compete In Conference Meets

The Henry Sibley girls golf team competed in a pair of conference meets last week, taking fourth with a score of 251 at Mendakota last Monday and eighth with a 477 at Highland National last Thursday. Individual results were not available.

Henry Sibley Boys Golf: Warriors Ninth at Oak Glen

The Henry Sibley boys golf team finished ninth in a conference meet at Oak Glen Country Club last Wednesday with a score of 378. Individual results were not available.

On Tuesday, the Warriors finished third in a Classic Suburban triangular with a score of 189.

Boys Tennis: Warriors Go 2-1 In Conference Duals

The Henry Sibley boys tennis team went 2-1 last week in Classic Suburban dual matches, topping North St. Paul 7-0 last Monday and Richfield 6-1 on Wednesday before falling 4-3 to St. Thomas Academy on Thursday. Individual results were not available.

St. Thomas Academy Baseball: Cadets Sweep Last Week's Matchups

With four wins in four games last week, the St. Thomas baseball team improved to 8-4 overall and 7-3 in the Classic Suburban.

The Cadets topped conference front-runner Hill-Murray (4-3) last Tuesday, then defeated Simley (10-0) Wednesday, Mahtomedi (7-0) Thursday and St. Michael-Albertville (7-1) Friday. Individual results were not available.

The St. Thomas boys golf team began last week with a 15th-place finish in the Don Saatzer Invite at Hastings Country Club on Monday, followed by a fourth-place result of 333 in a Classic Suburban meet at Oak Glen Country Club on Wednesday.

Visitation/St. Paul Academy Lacrosse: Blazers Win One, Lose Two

The Visitation/St. Thomas Academy girls lacrosse team entered this week with a 4-5 record after going 1-2 last week with a 13-12 victory at Holy Angels on Wednesday.

The Blazers sandwiched the victory with a 15-3 loss to Rochester-John Marshall and a 15-12 loss to Owatonna on Saturday.

Haley Housh leads the team with 29 goals, with Taylor Smith logging 22 goals this spring.

Visitation Softball: Blazers Improve to 7-2

The Visitation softball team improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the Tri-Metro Conference with three straight wins over Blake (3-0), DeLaSalle (11-4) and Minneapolis Washburn (12-1) last week.

Anne Debartin leads the Blazers with a .760 batting average and 13 runs scored, while Sarah Leach tops the squad with two home runs and Grace Jurkovich driving in a team high 12 RBI.

Visitation Track And Field: Blazers Second In Tri-Metro Meet

The Visitation track and field team recorded 93 points to take second in a Tri-Metro Conference meet last Tuesday with a score of 93 points. Individual statistics were not available.

Visitation Girls Golf: Blazers Out On The Links

The Visitation girls golf team came up one stroke short in a non-conference dual meet, 205-206, versus Champlin Park last Tuesday, then took second in a Tri-Metro triangular with a score of 187 last Thursday. Individual statistics were not available.
