Henry Sibley Football Pours It On in Second Half for Homecoming Win

Senior running back Sam Gottfredsen and senior quarterback Dante Grant scored two touchdowns each to lead the Warriors.

Henry Sibley scored on its first possession, with junior quarterback Jackson Eskierka passing seven yards to junior Nick Golberg for the score. The Warriors went up 14-7 in the second quarter on a 23-yard run by Sam Gottfredsen.

Richfield tied the game at 14-all with less than a minute to play in the first half on a 14-yard run by Camren Dearing. But the Warriors kicked a walk-off 38-yard field goal by Zach Haas for a 17-14 halftime lead.

The Warriors scored three straight touchdowns in the second half to put the game away. Quarterback Dante Grant ran for a 33-yard score, Sam Gottfredson had a 44-yard scoring scamper and Grant scored on another 7-yard run for a 38-14 lead.

Richfield’s Dearing returned the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for the Spartans.

Henry Sibley (1-3 overall, 1-3 in conference play) plays at sixth-ranked Mahtomedi Friday, starting at 7 p.m.
