Two St. Thomas Football Stars to Sign College Commitment Letters

Saint Thomas Academy seniors Danny McManus and Mack Marrin, both of Mendota Heights, will sign commitment letters on Wednesday to play college football. McManus will play for Dartmouth and Marrin for Drake University.

The following is a press release from St. Thomas Academy. McManus and Marrin will sign commitment letters during a cermony Wednesday morning at St. Thomas Academy.

McManus: As a defensive back, McManus ended his senior season with 97 tackles, 16 tackles for a loss, 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. Midway through the season, he began playing offense, and logged 373 rushing yards for 4 touchdowns, and 6 receptions for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his senior year, he was named: All-Conference, KARE-11 Athlete of the Week and All-Metro Football Team, Pioneer Press Prep Athlete of the Week and Football Player of the Year, All-Pioneer Press Football Team, Star Tribune All-Metro Football Team, Classic Suburban Conference Defensive Football Player of the Year, and AP All-State Football. He will be attending Dartmouth (Division 1 football).

Marrin: In his senior year, Marrin had 70 tackles, 14 tackles for losses, 1 pass interception and 3 fumble recoveries. He was named All-Conference for his accomplishments. Coach Dave Ziebarth said, “Mack has played on the varsity for the last three years and developed into an outstanding defensive linemen. He has tremendous speed and quickness for a big man and he also has great instinct and desire to get to the ball. He will be a very good football player in college.” Marrin will be attending Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa (Division 1 football).
