Kick Off the New Football Season with Heritage's First Annual Warrior Rally

The event will include food trucks, prizes, and a DJ.

With the unwelcome return of nightly homework and overloaded backpacks, the start of the school year can be a rather depressing time for students heading back to school after a long summer of leisure

Going back is never easy, which is exactly why Heritage E-Stem Middle School is throwing a big celebratory bash this Friday afternoon to help kick off not only the Henry Sibley football season, but the new school year in general.

Starting on Friday at 5 p.m., Heritage will put on what they’re calling the “First Annual Warrior Rally” to help raise excitement for the Sibley Warriors first home game of the season against the South St. Paul Packers.

The game doesn’t start until 7 p.m., but students and community members are welcome to come by early to the rally to enjoy a professional DJ, a variety of food trucks (including ones selling tacos and cupcakes), as well as something called the “Leprechaun Dreamcycle," which is currently being shrouded in secrecy.

Heritage will also be kicking off their 2012-2013 All-School-All-Year Raffle, which will include prizes like a 58-inch television, a new bike from Boehm’s, and an iPad.

The cost of the event is free, although prepare to bring some cash if you plan to partake in all those food trucks.
