Visitation Food Drive

Tradition plays a major role in so many Thanksgiving celebrations: the meal, family time, football, even the post-meal nap.  At Visitation School, students and their families have embraced another tradition – one that has been going on for more than 40 years:  providing a Thanksgiving meal for families in need.

For over 40 years, students, families, and staff at Visitation School have donated thousands of pounds of non-perishable foods, and for 22 years, food and turkeys have been personally delivered to more than 120 families in North Minneapolis.

Through Nov. 22, public donations of food can be dropped off from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the main front door of the school, also know as door #1 and the Monastery entrance.

Students in all grades will participate in packaging and promoting the drive.

Food will be delivered to the Visitation Monastery in North Minneapolis.  At the Minneapolis Monastery, the Sisters, students and north side neighbours organize into caravans that will drive through the neighbourhood delivering their cache of Thanksgiving meals.
