Approval of District 197 Interim Superintendent Expected Monday

The District 197 School Board will meet Monday, Aug. 1 at Mendota Heights City Hall for a regular business meeting.

The West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan School Board is expected to approve an interim superintendent at their meeting Monday, Aug. 1.

The board will meet at . A public listening session is scheduled at 6 p.m. in the conference room, and the regular business meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The former interim superintendent for the Stillwater Area School District, Tom Nelson, was recommended by the personnel committee and . Nelson could start work as early as Tuesday, according to a statement from the district.

  • a resolution calling for a general election this fall for the four board positions of Cristina Gillette, Robin Rainford, Mark Spurr and Laurie Tostrud.
  • approval of ballot language for the district's referendum this fall asking for a renewal and increase of an operating levy.
  • awarding of a contract for wireless network upgrades at Friendly Hills Middle School and Henry Sibley High School. Bidding opens Monday morning and approval at the evening meeting will ensure work is complete by the beginning of the school year, according to the district.
