Sibley Students raise $18,000 during annual GOFA Week

Henry Sibley High School's annual fundraising week, called Give One For All (GOFA), raised $18,000 this year for three area charities:

  • Neighborhood House, a multicultural, multilingual resource network for St. Paul's immigrants, refugees and low-income families;
  • Neighbor's Inc., a nonprofit, social-service agency serving the Northern Dakota County communities; and the
  • Ty Barberine Foundation, a nonprofit that supports children undergoing cancer treatment and their families, and raises awareness for pediatric cancer. The funds will be distributed evenly to the three organizations.
Henry Sibley has hosted GOFA week for more than 50 years. The events during GOFA are planned and managed by Henry Sibley’s Student Council. Four students served as GOFA Chairs this year: Grace Brooks, Will Larson, Alex Liu and Jimmy Wills.

Together, the Student Council members determined which organizations would receive the proceeds of GOFA after reviewing applications, evaluating the applicants’ causes and voting. The Student Council then organized fun activities and events that raised money through the participation of students, school staff and community members.
