“This program is crucial to many children in our area, and we are proud to provide them with healthy, accessible meals,” said Jeff Wolfer, District 197 child nutrition supervisor. “Last summer we served more than 20,000 meals to kids, and this summer we hope to do the same with the help of volunteers from our community.”

The Summer Food Service Program assists local organizations, such as schools, to operate programs providing nutritious meals and healthy activities for children during the summer months when schoolyear nutrition and activity programs are unavailable.
