This Week at City Hall: Expand a Gas Station?

This week, the Planning Commission takes up three items.

This Tuesday, the Mendota Heights Planning Commission is slated to take up three items, including whether or not to let the Dodd Road BP gas station expand.

According to documents posted on the city's website, the gas station's owners need a variance to replace the existing canopy over the pumps with a larger one 10 feet wider. The canopy is intended to "better protect" the existing pumps.

In addition, the station's owners want to expand the parking lot to give customers more maneuvering room.

The commission is also weighing whether to grant conditional use permits to two homeowners seeking to install fences on their properties.
