Shutdown Central: Minnesota Moves Forward After Shutdown, Special Session

A budget deal was passed to end the shutdown, now what does it mean for citizens?

As of midnight, legislators have passed six of 12 budget bills, with several more passed or being debated on one of the floors.

A special session was declared to begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. Progress on the chamber floors did not begin until 7 p.m.

Legislators are expected to pass all of the department bills negotiated between Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican leadership.
