Mendota Heights City Clerk Resigns

Sandie Thone is leaving for a position closer to home.

Another change-up at is underway after City Clerk Sandie Thone announced her resignation this week.

Thone, who runs elections, city records and licenses and permits, has accepted a job with the city of Lake Elmo. She's been with the city of Mendota Heights for over six years. 

Thone said in an email that the new job is closer to her home in Woodbury.

Former left last summer to take a position in his hometown of Farmington. 

City Administrator Justin Miller is seizing the opportunity to make some changes in the city's administrative structure, removing management duties from the city clerk position and transfering those to the finance director. A job opening for the position would offer $47,594-$57,851 if approved by the City Council on Tuesday.
