Ding Ding! Robert St. Streetcar a Leading Transit Option

The other alternative, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press: Bus rapid-transit on Hwy. 52.

The clang of the streetcar could ring a mile east of Mendota Heights if one of two transit options advances in Dakota County.

A streetcar running down Robert Street from downtown St. Paul is one of two leading contenders for a new transit option, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press

By 2024, either the trolley or a rapid-transit bus line on U.S. Highway 52 could be serving northern Dakota County, the newspaper reported,  after a meeting of local officials pared alternatives last Sunday.

Inver Grove Heights City Council Member Dennis Madden favors the bus option, according to the Pioneer Press, but doesn't want any kind of transit to change the character of IGH: "I'm a suburbanite and I'm proud of it, and I don't want to live in the city."
