National Weather Service forecasters are calling for 2-4 inches of snow across the metro area on Wednesday night, with more than an inch possible on Thursday.

Minnesota weather, famous for its vagaries, may have yet another surprise in store for Twin Cities residents. 

National Weather Service forecasters are calling for 2-4 inches of snow across the metro area on Wednesday night, with more than an inch possible on Thursday.

The Twin Cities, including Mendota Heights, will likely see rain beginning late Wednesday morning, according to the weather service. As temperatures fall into the 30s on Wednesday night, that rain may turn into snow.

Additional snow is likely before 1 p.m. on Thursday, with rain following on Thursday afternoon. The high temperature on Thursday is expected to be near 43 degrees, according to forecasters.
