July 16

Police pulled over a drunk driver on Highway 13 that they recognized from a call to a party earlier in the night.

A man exposed himself to a woman at Wentworth Park then drove off.

A thief shattered the window of a car parked by the railroad tracks in downtown Mendota and stole a woman’s purse.

July 15

A Mendota Heights resident reported a suspect attempting to cash checks from his bank account in St. Paul. One check was cashed for $800 before branch locations could be notified.

 

July 10

A vehicle was broken into on the 1600 block of Lilydale Road.

 

July 9

Minor damage to mailboxes on the 700 block of Hokah Drive was reported.

BP gas station in Lilydale reported a gas theft of $50.02. The vehicle was found at the address of the registered owner, who said he had lent it to the neighbor at the time of the theft.

 

July 7

Relatives of a homeowner on the 600 block of Wesley Lane discovered a burglary at the residence. The thief forced open a back door.

A suspect set off the alarm at Tuesday Morning by hiding a towel in their pants.

 

July 6

 A mailbox on the 1200 block of Dodd Road suffered an untimely demise at the hands of someone with too much enthusiasm for the season’s pyrotechnics.

 

July 5

The driver of an ATV found cruising Highway 13 after bar close—with no lights on— also happened to be under 21 and intoxicated.

 

July 4

A parked car was broken into on Lilydale Road while the owner was watching fireworks out on the river.

 

July 3

Gas worth $43.17 was stolen by a driver at the BP gas station in Lilydale. The car was sporting stolen plates out of Scott County.

A woman called police to report her purse had been stolen while she worked in the kitchen of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

 

July 2

Two aggressive dogs were reported wandering Wagon Wheel Trail.

 

July 1

An internet suitor needed to have a “Dear John” moment with a police officer before he agreed to stop emailing and calling a woman that had broken up with him.

A maroon 15-speed bike was found on the 700 block of Plaza Drive South.
