Mendota Heights PD Blotter: Drunk Man, Damaged Car Found in Police Parking Lot

April 23

A driver was stopped on Interstate 35E for driving 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking. A preliminary breath test measured a blood alcohol concentration of .12.

April 22

A heavily damaged vehicle was found in the police department’s parking lot shortly before 3 a.m. An intoxicated man inside the vehicle said the driver had ran away.

A gas drive-off of $58.38 was reported at in Lilydale.

April 20

The driver of a Dodge Durango made off from  with $72.27 worth of gas. The Missouri license plate number reported was not on file.

A man called to report a computer stolen from his car while it was parked at . He said he’d left the back windows of the car down.

A two-car collision was reported on the roundabout at Mendota Heights Road. No citations were issued, and one car was towed.

April 19

A driver failed to dim their brights on Dodd Road, prompting a license check. The license check turned up expired registration, and the subsequent traffic stop turned up a drunk driver.

April 18

Police responded to a car vs. bus collision on Delaware. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A school bus stop arm violation was reported on Wentworth Avenue, but only a partial plate number was taken and a suspect was not found.

April 17

A burglary was reported on the 1500 block of Commerce Drive.

Three males raised suspicions when they were spotted walking out of a yard on the 1800 block of Rolling Green Curve carrying suitcases. Police found the home had been burglarized.

April 16

Damage to a fence and a vehicle was reported at. Gas had been siphoned from a vehicle.

A vehicle was clocked driving 105 mph in a 65 mph zone on Highway 52. The driver failed field sobriety tests, and a preliminary breath test registered a blood alcohol concentration of .187

Mendota Heights police helped West St. Paul track down a suspect in a motorist confrontation and damage-to-property incident. 

April 14

A resident on the 1000 block of Delaware reported that a vehicle in the driveway had been hit by another car. 

Graffiti was reported on the sewer lift station off of Lilydale Road.

A parked vehicle was struck by a driver in the parking lot.

April 12

A speeding driver was stopped on Interstate 35E. The driver smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. Drug paraphernalia was found in the car. 

April 10

Police responded to on a report of an out-of-control student. The student was not cooperative and tried to flee police. Crisis workers were notified and the student was brought to the hospital.

A suspect driving a black Mercury Mountaineer with no back license plate pumped $55.75 of gas at the in Lilydale and took off without paying.

A black and brown female Chihuahua was found on the 1200 block of Highway 13 and taken to 4 Paws Animal Control.
