Mendota Heights Man Arrested After Minneapolis Woman Struck by Car

Any charges are pending results of a blood test after a Thursday night accident sends one woman to hospital.

A Mendota Heights man was arrested Thursday night after police responded to a car accident in St. Paul. A woman crossing the street at Selby Avenue and Snelling Avenue was hit by a 2004 Jaguar allegedly driven by John Robert Bultena, 60, according to John Keating, St. Paul Police’s public information officer.

The accident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday.

The victim, 24-year-old Abigail Lanski of Minneapolis, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.  She was conscious and able to speak with officers at the scene. Lanski told police she was crossing the street after leaving work.

Police said Bultena showed signs of alcohol use and impairment at the scene.

Charges will not be filed until the result of a blood test are returned, said Keating.
