House Cleaner Charged With Mendota Heights Burglary, Theft

The suspect told police she entered a door she knew would be open, according to report.

A house cleaner with access to a Mendota Heights home has been charged with burglary and theft of the homeowner’s jewelry.

An investigation by the found that $6,000 worth of rings taken from a home on Knollwood Lane last October had been pawned by the suspect, Callie Patricia Strom, a 22-year-old resident of North St. Paul.

The cleaning company used by the victim provided the names of anyone with possible access to the home, leading police to Strom.

Strom was not working at the time of the theft. She told police she accessed the home via a service door she knew would be open, on a day she knew a cleaning crew was expected, according to the criminal complaint.

The jewelry was recovered and identified by the victim.
