Crash on 35E Near Wagon Wheel Kills St. Paul Resident

Vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges are pending.

A 50-year-old St. Paul resident died last night in Mendota Heights when his vehicle stalled in the right lane of northbound 35E and he was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver.

The crash happened at 1 a.m. Friday morning near Wagon Wheel Trail. Road conditions at the time of the accident are listed as dry.

The struck car had their flashers on, according to the Star Tribune.

Julie Ann Fischer, 49, of Lakeville was arrested at the scene, and is being held at Dakota County jail.

Tijuan Moore, 50, died at the scene. His passenger, Lisa Newsom, 26, also of St. Paul, was taken to Regions Hospital but did not appear to have any life-threatening injuries, according to the state patrol.
