Blotter: Drunk Driver Asleep on Hwy. 55, Marijuana Use at Ivy Hills Park Reported in Mendota Heights Area

Jan. 30

A driver was stopped for driving 45-50 mph in a 70 mph zone. The driver’s license had been suspended.

Jan. 29

Police responded to a call of a stopped car on Highway 55 near Mendota Heights Road. They found the very-intoxicated driver covered in vomit and sleeping.

Five individuals were caught smoking marijuana inside a car parked at Ivy Hills Park. One received a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and they were all cited for being in the park after hours.

Jan. 28

An SUV driver pumped $48.37 worth of gas at the Holiday gas station on Highway 13 and drove away without paying for it.

Jan. 26

A speeding driver with no taillights on was stopped on Highway 35E shortly after bar close. The driver failed field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test, and was taken to jail.

Three security cameras were stolen from the BP gas station on Dodd Road. While the cameras did record the crime, they did not capture critical information about the getaway vehicle.

The driver of a black Ford 150 pickup truck drove off from Holiday Gas Station on Highway 13 without paying for $69.76 worth of gas.

A driver clocked at 53mph in a 35 mph zone also ran a red light and was stopped on Highway 110. The driver submitted a preliminary blood alcohol content measurement of .152.

Jan. 25

A driver reported hitting a dog in the street on the 1400 block of Dodd Road. The dog was taken to the animal hospital by its owner.

Jan. 24

The windshield of a car parked on the 900 block of Delaware was reported damaged. The cause could not be determined.

Jan. 21

A large party bus backed into an SUV in the River Bluffs Center Parking Lot. Both vehicles had only minor damage.

Jan. 20

A person stopped into the police department to turn in mail they had found on Lexington Avenue. The envelopes had been opened, and two checks had been stolen. The mail belonged to a resident of Wachtler Avenue.

Jan. 19

A fight broke out between a couple in the McDonald’s parking lot on Dodd Road. When police arrived, the victim was still at the scene, nursing a cut finger, but would not say what happened.

Jan. 18

A woman reported her debit card information had been stolen and used to by over $100 worth of hair care products from a Web site.
