Vote 'Yes' for a Stronger Community

Join me in assuring a safe and quality education for the children of I.S.D. 197 by voting Yes on May 6.

As a mother of four children in the district, we have participated in the I.S.D. 197 Early Childhood Family Education program for the past 12 years. The ECFE program emphasizes the role of the parents as their child's first and most influential teacher. The entire community benefits when parents are more skilled and invested in their role as parents and children have positive early life experiences and enter school eager and ready to learn. Investing in early childhood education is money well spent.

If education is about knowledge and intellectual skills, then information technology lies at the heart of it all. As a society, we have only just begun this transition. School will eventually look very different. Our students need to be globally competitive by upgrading and enhancing our technology tools.

There is, unfortunately, a heightened need to both consider and deliver greater security in our district schools. There is a need to ensure that everything possible is done to protect our children as recent events so tragically have proven.

Again, join me in voting Yes on May 6 for a stronger community.
