Winter Owls Night Hike in Lilydale Park 3.7.12

Winter Owls Night Hike in Lilydale Park 3.7.12. Beautiful night in the park. No owls, but brilliant night sky.

Friends of Lilydale Park is grateful to Saint Paul Audubon for partnering on this event & being our guides. We had a full house. It was a surprisingly chilly night. Children & adults quietly listened & watched intently for signs of owls in Lilydale Park. We hoped to see 1 of the owls you see in the photos, but sadly didn't. They were shy or resistant to showing us that they are indeed in the park. (We have good, reliable sources who swear they are & we believe them.) Even though there were no owl sightings, and there was a lot of shivering, we enjoyed being in the park dusk-to-dark. The night sky was beautiful w/ a brilliant display of Venus, Mercury, Mars & constellations. Another sweet Lilydale Park experience. Keep it Natural.
