Age of Aquarius in Lilydale Park?

Venus and Jupiter viewed in sky over Lilydale Park. No owls but great setting for urban park.

Owls were not to be seen tonight in Lilydale Park. Perhaps it was the almost constant vehicles and lights coming down the road through the park. (Do we really need a new, wider road as Saint Paul parks staff wish?) Perhaps it means the unseasonably warm weather also heralds the end of the best owl-watching season.

Regardless, Venus and Jupiter put on quite a show in the night sky, along with the sounds of geese, ducks, water fowl and frogs, for about 15 of us plus two wonderful Saint Paul Audubon Society volunteers. Lilydale remains quite an unusual oasis in an urban area. Hopefully it can stay that way!
