Tee it Up for the Troops Hosts 100 Veterans, Thousands of Fans at Mendakota

Mendota Heights hosted a special event Saturday as veterans, current service members and family gathered to hit the links for a wonderful cause.

The 9th annual Tee it Up for the Troops Flagship golf tournament hit the links last weekend at Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights, welcoming more than 1,000 golfers and fans to the course, including 100 veterans who participated int he annual golf tournament.

The day featured music, moments of remembrance and spirit, a visit from the Freedom Riders group, and camaraderie on the golf course.

The event is a huge fundraiser for vets across the country, as golf outings and wine tastings (dubbed Tip it Up for the Troops) help families who have lost loved ones, and veterans who are dealing with the effects of war, including injuries and PTSD.
