AirSpace Minnesota welcomes to the Twin
Cities astronaut Dr. Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, the last of the 12 U.S. men to
step onto the moon, for a public lecture and book signing at Northern Star
Council Boy Scout Base Camp on Friday, October 11.

Dr. Schmitt, also a pilot, geologist,
academic, businessman and former U.S. Senator, is author of the book
Return to the Moon: Exploration, Enterprise, and Energy in the Human
Settlement of Space. He is here to celebrate the centenary of the birth
of Minnesota-born Bob Gilruth, father of America’s human space flight program,
and the state’s deep legacy of innovation in aviation and aerospace.
AirSpace Minnesota is a non-profit whose
mission is to celebrate Minnesota’s aviation and aerospace legacy, present and
future, and encourage new generations in science, technology, engineering and
mathematics (STEM).
