Winter Weather Advisory Warns More Slick Roads Ahead for Mendota Heights Commuters

Expect slick roads and snowfall during Monday's commute.

A winter weather advisory is in effect through noon Monday for the metro area, including northern Dakota County. 

A freezing rain Sunday night is expected to transition to snow, peaking during rush hour traffic, according to the National Weather Service. The metro area could receive 1-2 inches of snow by noon.

"The snow and ice will likely cause problems for morning commuters across the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area," states the advisory released by the National Weather Service on Sunday evening.

Slick roads on Friday resulted in over 600 crashes statewide, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. No serious or fatal injuries were reported.
