Mendota Heights Weekend Things Sept. 16-18

When/Where:  9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17/

Why Go: Proceeds from this 5K support District 197 schools. Racers will be eligible for awards and raffles.

When/Where: 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 17/

Why Go: Kids can learn a pom routine with members and coaches of the Henry Sibley Warriors dance team to perform in the Homecoming parade.

Pricing: $45. Register by Thursday, Sept. 15. Day-of registrants also accepted.

 

When/Where: 10 a.m. Saturday Sept. 17/Caponi Art Park, 1220 Difley Road, Eagan

Why Go: You have a digital camera, but do you know how to use it? Bring your point-and-shoot or SLR digital camera for a lesson on taking your best shot.

Pricing: Free. A $4 donation is suggested.

 

When/Where: 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17/

Why Go: Become a part of the first community festival for Lilydale. Food from Bon Giorno Italia, Moose Country, Sunfish Cellars and the Pool and Yacht Club will complement booths from local businesses (including Patch!), music, comedy and activities.

Pricing: Free to attend 

 

Pancake Breakfast and Young Eagle Rides

When/Where: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18/ Fleming Field, 1700 Henry Avenue, South St. Paul

Why Go: Proceeds from this pancake breakfast send kids to aviation camp in Wisconsin as well as Neighbors, Inc. food shelf and college aviation scholarships. Young Eagle airplane rides are open first come, first serve for youth age 8-17 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The event is hosted by South St. Paul's Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1229.

Pricing: $8 for adults, $5 for kids.
