Sold: Two Homes Sell in Mendota Heights
Minnesota is still avoiding the worst of the foreclosures.
While there are still plenty of short sales and bank-owned homes available for Minnesota home buyers, Minnesota is doing comparatively well.
Minnesota ranks number one for home ownership among the fifty states, but California is number one in foreclosure filings, accounting for more than half the nation’s foreclosures with 59,383 properties foreclosed in August.
Florida came in second with 23,569 foreclosures, a five percent increase from the previous month.

But nationally, August foreclosures were down one percent from July and down 43 percent from the high in March 2010. Of the two properties to close in Mendota Heights last week, one was a short sale and one a traditional sale.
