Photo Gallery: Rivers Crest in Lilydale Regional Park, Fort Snelling State Park

Flood waters officially crested last week. A second crest is predicted for Saturday.

The rivers crested March 31 around the Twin Cities at 18.76 feet, and has receded down to 17 feet as of Monday morning. Lilydale Regional Park, which is designed to be a flood plain, is one of the first locations in the Twin Cities to become submerged.

A second crest is predicted for Saturday by the National Weather Service. Since nearly all of the Mendota Heights-Lilydale-Mendota area sits safely on the bluffs, flooding has a minimal impact on residents, but does provide an amazing view of the power of the rivers surrounding us.
