Patch Picks: Earth Day in the Mendota Heights Area

April 22 is Earth Day, so here are some ideas to celebrate the day and the planet.

Free Coffee at Caribou on Earth Day

Get that extra caffeine you need to go out and make a difference. This Friday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Caribou Coffee will be giving a free cup of coffee to all who bring in reusable drinkware.  The offer is good at all locations, including in Mendota Heights and 1193 S. Robert Street in West St. Paul.

Enjoy this popular Dakota County park and do your part to help keep it clean on April 23.  The day begins at 10 a.m. and if you fill a trash bag, you will be eligible to receive a coupon good for a one-hour canoe or kayak rental at Lebanon Hills this summer. Bring your lunch and enjoy a break from noon- 1 p.m. at the Visitor Center. Be a good citizen in your own neighborhood and grab a trash bag to pick up garbage, cans and other items that have been hiding under the snow piles all winter.  Whether you visit Veterans Park in Mendota,  or any of the other local parks, you'll be doing your part to be a good citizen of the community.

Time for Turtles at Dodge Nature Center
