Moms Talk: Which Summer Camps Do Your Children Love?

This week on Moms Talk, we're having a campfire chat about the best camps and what really matters in finding the right one for your child.

Sometimes the most important advice a mom can get is help weeding through the endless choices kids have when choosing activities. With that in mind, one choice facing parents now and in upcoming weeks is what summer camps to send their children to this summer.

Whether it’s a day arts program, language camp, or traditional “Kumbaya” and canoeing experience you seek, there’s likely an option out there for children of every stripe.

The sheer number of camps available supports that. According to the American Camping Association, more than 11 million kids and adults attend one of roughly 12,000 camps in the U.S. every year. Parents pay an average of $325 to $780 per week for resident programs, and an average of $100 to $275 per week for day camps. With that kind of investment, good advice is priceless. It’s also worthy of note that the ACA reports that 90 percent of camps offer financial assistance.
