MnDOT: Southbound I-35E Closes For Weekend in Mendota Heights, Lilydale
I-35E between Interstate 94 in St. Paul and Interstate 494 in Eagan/Mendota Heights closes at 10 p.m.
Southbound Interstate 35E is scheduled to close between Interstate 94 and Interstate 494 at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.
In preparation, traffic will be reduced to one lane between Highway 5/West Seventh Street and Highway 13 at 7 p.m.
The posted detour will direct drivers to Highway 52 to Interstate 494.

The road is scheduled to reopen before rush hour on Monday, Sept. 26.
The closures are part of the I-35E resurfacing project between Highway 5/West Seventh Street in St. Paul and Lone Oak Road in Eagan. When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, extended pavement life, improved drainage and improved pedestrian crossings that meet accessibility standards, according to MnDOT.
