MnDOT: NB Hwy 52 Traffic Switches Next Week South of Lafayette Bridge

Highway 52 will be restored back to two lanes each direction for winter.

Northbound Highway 52 and the left lane of southbound Highway 52 will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 between Concord Street and Interstate 94, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. 

Crews will be switching northbound traffic from the southbound side of the roadway back onto the northbound lanes of Highway 52.

During the closures, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid congestion.

Northbound Highway 52 was shifted to a single lane of traffic this year for reconstruction of the northbound Plato Boulevard and Eaton Street bridges and resurfacing of the northbound Concord Street bridge.

Intermittent lane closures are planned Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 19 and 20 to finish restriping the southbound highway.

By the end of the day Tuesday, Oct. 18, Highway 52 will be two lanes in each direction until next spring, when work begins on the southbound Plato Boulevard, Eaton Street and Concord Street bridges.
