MnDOT: I-35E Lane Closures Scheduled this Weekend in Mendota Heights Area

Lanes will be closed to the north, then to the south of Mendota Heights, Mendota and Lilydale this weekend.

Work on Interstate 35E will continue this weekend starting Friday morning, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The project will result in a smoother ride, extended pavement life, improved drainage and improved pedestrian crossings on I-35E between Highway 5 in St. Paul and Lone Oak Road in Eagan, according to MnDOT.

Southbound Interstate 35E will be reduced to a single lane between Highway5/West Seventh Street and Shepard Road from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

Northbound I-35E will be reduced to a single lane between Shepard Road and Highway 5/West Seventh Street from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

Southbound Interstate 35E between Interstate 494 and Lone Oak Road will be closed at 10 p.m. Friday and all lanes will be open by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3. A detour will direct motorists along westbound Interstate 494 to southbound Highway 77 and back to Interstate 35E.
