MnDOT: Hwy. 13 Closure in Mendota/Lilydale Scheduled for Thursday
MnDOT is gathering information on rock below site of past washouts.
Highway 13 (Sibley Memorial Highway) between Lexington Avenue in Lilydale and Second Avenue in Mendota is scheduled to close Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Crews will be conducting a seismic survey of the area of the highway that has washed out in recent years. The data will be used to determine how the department can best stabilize the road’s foundation to prevent future road closures like that .
Drivers should expect delays during the closure. A Lexington Avenue/ Highway 110 detour is planned to reroute traffic.
