Mendota Heights Under Winter Weather Advisory

Residents will wake up to 2-4 inches, according to forecasts.

A winter storm is expected to nick the Mendota Heights area Saturday afternoon and evening.  Forecasters predict 2-4 inches of snow could start to fall anytime after 3 p.m., according to data from the U.S. National Weather Service, with the majority falling tonight.

The Twin Cities in under a winter weather advisory until 6 a.m. Sunday.

The snowfall may coincide with the festivities at The Village of Mendota Heights, where events surrounding a tree-lighting are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

While that may set a pretty backdrop for the seasonal merriment, central Dakota County and southern Minnesota could also be hit with unfavorable driving conditions for those visiting from nearby cities.  Expect snow-covered roads and limited visibility.

A low of 27 degrees is forecasted.
