Brief: MHPD Launches Online Crime Map

See where crime has been reported in Mendota Heights, Mendota and Lilydale.

The has launched an online crime map to pinpoint where criminal activity is happening in town.

Residents can visit the site to see what's going on where: MHPD Crime Map.

The data is auto-populated from crime reports, usually approved the day after a complaint is filed.

Sgt. Brian Convery said the map is a good way of giving residents more information about crime in the city, and could encourage residents to take appropriate precautions. 

Some tweaks to the data fields are still in the works, but the map is available now. The pins can be sorted by date or by type of crime. Click on the "filter" button to select which crimes you want to see.

The location is automatically set to the Mendota Heights Police Department off of Lexington, but you can change that as well to reflect how far away a crime happened from your home or work.
